J. Wiss & Sons are noted for their fine scissors, straight razors, and surgical tools - they discontinued making straight razors in late 1923.

Wiss & Sons Company, based in Newark, New Jersey, was established in the mid-19th century, around 1856. The company gained prominence throughout the late 19th and early 20th centuries for manufacturing high-quality straight razors and grooming tools.

This particular razor is about 4/8" width the steel is well preserved. The tang impressions are the the best I've seen on a Wiss. Features tang jimps and a barber's notch. Scales are acrylic with some light scratches but over all excellent value. I doubt the scales are original to the steel. Shave ready edge. Great heirloom piece for use or your collection.
