6/8 Bindley Hardware Co. Straight Razor Pennsylvania Pittsburgh

The Bindley Hardware Co. was a popular spot in Pittsburgh PA. Their building still stands today and is a Registered Historic building. As president of the Pittsburgh Chamber of Commerce from 1895 to 1902 and of the National Hardware Association, John P. Bindley had tried to organize the hardware industry into a "National Combine" or trust, but failed due to opposition from the government. In response, he established a dominant regional hardware wholesaler in Pittsburgh, which became a major center of hardware manufacturing. The Bindley Hardware Company Building served as its main warehouse.

I believe this razor is from around 1920s. I could be wrong...if you know better than me...let me know.

As far as the razor goes. It's not up to my standards and that's why I'm not asking my prices. This is a hefty 6/8" blade with original scales. Tang impressions are pretty clear but also a bit faded, if that makes sense. There are spots here and there on the tang and face. Nothing real concerning but certainly cosmetic and noticeable in the photos. Priced to sell. It's shaving just fine. If you're looking for a Pittsburgh razor with some known history this is the piece for you to rep the United States City of Steel.
